## Access Controls
Access may depend on category permissions, groups, trust levels, admin settings, plugin settings, staff roles, subscriptions, alpha limits, or special roles.
Category permissions use See, Reply, and Create.
Trust levels describe participation status.
Groups control access more precisely than trust levels.
Staff and special roles may have permissions outside ordinary user progression.
## Persistence Behavior
Public topics and posts persist as forum content unless changed by edits, deletion, moderation, visibility changes, archiving, or permissions.
Personal messages persist as private Discourse conversation records and are included in user data export.
Chat uses Discourse Chat behavior, including channels, personal chats, chat preferences, and retention behavior.
Chat messages quoted into topics remain in the topic.
Wiki posts persist as Discourse posts with collaborative edit behavior and revision history.
BITwiki pages persist as MediaWiki pages with wiki history, diffs, categories, redirects, and talk pages.
## Continuity Records
Continuity state files preserve stable ecosystem context for users, agents, and RAG systems.
Continuity records include primitives, surfaces, roles, permissions, persistence behavior, routing concepts, and vocabulary.
Continuity records use verified public sources and current platform pages.
## Status Vocabulary
active: available and visible at the source.
limited: available with access, role, or runtime limits.
draft: unfinished or not canonical.
experimental: active but unstable, changing, or under development.
stale: needs review before reuse.
deprecated: preserved for history but superseded.
broken: link, surface, or workflow fails.
private: restricted surface.
public: visible to public readers.
permissioned: access depends on group, trust level, staff role, subscription, or setting.
unknown: not verified.
verify: source exists but runtime, permission, or current behavior requires confirmation.
